Gestational Diabetes

Gestational Diabetes is a condition that occurs during pregnancy.  This is when the expecting mommy has elevated blood glucose and thus needs to monitor glucose levels and food choices. Gestational Diabetes does go away after delivery, but the risk for Type 2 Diabetes remains.  Mommy needs to be aware of her increased risk and talk with her health team about any needed actions.
